Good-bye ya'll...

It's about 3 hours now until I leave to go to CBU to meet my team. There we will pray, be prayed for by those who love us, and then we're off!
I finally feel ready.
My bags are packed (and I'll admit, they're a little heavy...haha), I've got the comfiest (is that a word?) plane-ride outfit on, and I've got my water bottle ready to go.
Now I'm just waiting...wasting time writing in this thing, watching the country music awards (yay Rascal Flatts!) and enjoying the comforts of home that I won't see for 5 1/2 weeks.
I appreciate your prayers in advance...and your love, support and encouraging words. Good-bye California...I'll see you in a little over a month! :-)

Tomorrow night...

So I leave tomorrow night, well, technically wednesday morning at 2am, but since I'm not sleeping before, I'm counting it as tomorrow night.
I have mixed emotions...excitement, wondering, nervousness, ?....I just can't believe it's here so fast. You'd think that since I've known where I am going and when I was going since December, that when the time came I'd be ready. Welp...I can't say that I'm 100% ready. I'm just not sure what it is...but I know God is in the midst of it, so I'll be okay.
Oh, and I also really love the people I'm going with...so this helps with the nervous feelings.
Tonight Ashley comes home from stupid choir tour, and I get to see her for a brief moment before we both leave the country in the next two days. I've missed her so much...I truly have.
I also miss Kinsley a lot...roommate, fly home safe! E-mail me/comment me/call me and leave messages... :-) "Absence makes the heart grow fonder..."
My girls in Rwanda...Pacs/Saraho/Ashlana/Jules/Amy...come home safe as well. I can't wait to see you and here all about it. :-)
Anyone else who may be reading this...leave comments! I'm gonna love reading things from people back home...so, type away!
Alright...I guess I should start getting some stuff together? God bless...

Tummy-ache...and other random thoughts

I don't feel good...my stomach is sick, and I'm not sure why.
This needs to get better, like, now...I leave the country in 5 days.
Speaking of which...I can't believe that this time next week, I'll have spent a whole day in Instanbul, Turkey. Wow...God is so good.
I got my acceptance letter to CBU's credentialing program today...by the time I graduate, I'll have my teaching credential as well. Yay. I'm in for one heck of a senior year.
My grandparents are here from Arkansas...I love love love when they come to visit. They are some of the funnest, coolest, greatest people I know. It has been so fun hanging out with them.
I think I have a fever.
Everyone pray that I wake up feeling much better.
Kinsley called me from India this morning...so cool. I miss her so very much, you're not supposed to go without your roommate/best friend this long. I'll see her June 30th...yay.
Tomorrow is my last day of work for 1 1/2 months.
I miss my girls in Rwanda too.
I wish Ash would come home already from stupid choir tour.
Time for a shower.
God bless.

I'm 21 today...
Happy Birthday to me. :-)

Sunday, May 07, 2006

I just had a really long post, and then it was deleted....yay.

I hate when that kind of stuff happens. Oh well.
Today, roughly 15 of my closest friends left to go to Rwanda. Because I leave for Turkey on the 24th, and they don't return until the 29th, I won't see them again until June 30th/July 1st.
Kinsley leaves for India on tuesday.
I love that we are all doing this, giving our summer and our lives to go all over the world to where He's sent us, to love on people that most Americans deem unlovable, to share His truth with those who have never even heard the name "Jesus". It's amazing, and I'm blessed to be a part of it.

I'll close with some lyrics that have inspired me lately, and that get me really pumped to go overseas for the One who gave me life:

In Me, by Casting Crowns

If you ask me to leap out of my boat on the crashing waves
If you ask me to go preach to a lost world that Jesus saves

I'll go but I cannot go alone
Cause I know I'm nothing on my own
But the power of Christ in me makes me strong
Makes me strong

Cause when I'm weak, You make me strong
When I'm blind, You shine Your light on me
Cause I'll never get by living on my own ability
How refreshing to know You don't need me
How amazing to find that You want me
So I'll stand on Your truth, and I'll fight with Your strength
Until you being the victory, by the power of Christ in me

If you ask me to run
And carry Your light into foreign land
If you ask me to fight
Deliver Your people from satan's hand

To reach out with Your hands
To learn through Your eyes
To love with the love of a savior
To feel with your Your heart
And to think with Your mind
I'd give my last breath for Your glory

Here's to being willing to give our last breath for HIS glory... :-)

Everyone have an amazing new week!
